For a little taste of Fall in a cup, I have 3 words; Pumpkin Old Fashioned. I have to admit, when I first read pumpkin puree combined with whiskey, I wanted to gag. I’m not really a pumpkin flavor lover like some people but I’ll always give something a try at least once. And, it wouldn’t be in the spirit of Fall to not incorporate some sort of pumpkin into a cocktail so I present to you the Old Fashioned with a Fall twist.

This Pumpkin Old Fashioned may seem like it requires a lot of ingredients but my favorite thing to do if I don’t have something is to use a substitute. For this particular cocktail, I didn’t have orange liqueur in my cabinet but it tasted just as delicious with the orange juice taking its place. I’m also not typically a fan of anything really sweet like maple syrup but this combined with the pumpkin puree is what gives that really rich and full flavor that reminds me of all of things Fall.

Kick the season off with a delicious cocktail that will make you want to hit the pumpkin patches and apple orchards just a little bit earlier with its Fall flavor.
