It’s Women’s History month! That means it’s time to celebrate all of the beautiful Women out there. In honor of this, I chose the Cool Jane cocktail for this week’s Whiskey Wednesday.
What’s fun about this cocktail is that it uses Jane Walker which is a play on the classic Johnny Walker whiskey. I tried Jane Walker last year for my birthday (the feminist in me was super excited to find it) and it’s actually a really good whiskey to drink on its own. Now, when you mix it in a cocktail, it just tastes even better.
This deliciously fresh cocktail can be great year round, especially in the Summer months. The whiskey combined with the tonic water helps to tone things down if you’re not too into the bitter flavor that whiskey can offer. Then, adding in the vanilla extract perfectly balances it out to give it just the slightest hint of sweet flavor. Finally, the lemon juice on top feels like it brings it altogether with that sour finish. Now, the cucumber may be just for garnish, however, you can taste notes of it throughout sipping. And of course, it’s great to eat at the end.
The Cool Jane cocktail may be made to celebrate Women’s History month but it’s moving its way up the list for Spring and Summer cocktails. So ladies, sit down, relax, and unwind with this drink because you deserve it. Cheers!
